Several years ago, Ring announced that they would be working to bring HomeKit support to its smart doorbells. However, after Amazon acquired the company, some were understandably worried that this would never come to pass, but Ring later clarified that by confirming that HomeKit support would still be coming.
Now it looks like the wait could soon be over because in a tweet by Twitter user Danie Feodorov, it looks like a couple of Ring’s products have gained HomeKit certification. This means that they are technically approved by Apple for use in its HomeKit ecosystem, so all that’s left is for Ring to update its software so that its customers will be able to fully take advantage of it.
There is no word on when Ring plans on making any kind of official announcement for HomeKit support, but the fact that it has already received its certification means that the wait shouldn’t be too long (hopefully). This means that once the changes have been made, Apple users will be able to manage their Ring devices through Siri or the Home app on their devices.
So it looks like @ring is now #HomeKit certified… pic.twitter.com/dcB4LNOR6H

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for when the updates are made, so check back with us later for the details.
