There’s going to be a new Predator game for the PlayStation 4 next year. It was revealed at the recent PlayStation State of Play that the studio behind Friday the 13th, IllFonic, is working on a new title called Predator: Hunting Ground. The game is in early development right now and is going to be a competitive, online multiplayer experience.
Fans can rest assured that the development is being handled by people who are fans of the 1987 film and are also mindful of the subsequent projects based on the Predator franchise. This should result is a game that many of the franchise’s fans find interesting.
According to the details so far, the game will see one group having control of the firepower and launching paramilitary missions while the other has control of the predator. The developer is working on this project in close collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Fox.
“Not only do these powerhouses believe in our vision, which has made this a dream project, they understand what we want to create,” IllFonic CEO Charles Brungardt said. The developer adds that there will be surprises for fans when the game launches for the PlayStation 4 in 2020. It’s currently “pretty early in development.”
