If you’re looking to purchase a new mid-range smartphone, perhaps one of Nokia’s current offerings will be to your liking. At least that’s what the company would be hoping. HMD Global, the company making Nokia-branded smartphones, unveiled the Nokia 4.2 back in February. The handset is now set to arrive in the United States for $189.
The company says that the Nokia 4.2 is going to offer customers an “affordable flagship experience,” with features like a notched 5.71 inch display, a design with glass on the front and back, a dual camera system, and a fingerprint sensor. It offers all of that while keeping the price tag below $200.
Nevertheless, it’s still a budget device, so it won’t be breaking any performance records. The Nokia 4.2 gets a Snapdragon 439 processor with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. It also has a 3,000mAh battery. Aside from being a part of the Android One program, this device is also unique in the sense that it features a dedicated voice assistant button. Pressing it once wakes up Google Assistant while pressing it twice brings up visual snapshot. Holding the button would make the Assistant listen to the user’s command indefinitely.
HMD Global says that the Nokia 4.2 will begin shipping on May 15th. The device will be available in black and pink colors.
