Mario Kart Tour will be the next title that Nintendo will be releasing on mobile. The game is currently pegged for a release this summer and the beta of the game has already kicked off over in Japan. Thanks to users who are participating in the games beta, they have shared images and details of the game, giving us an idea of what to expect.
We should point out that since this is a beta, what you see now could be subject to change, but for the most part this is what we can expect. According to the screenshots and information from the players, the way the game is played is pretty much like Mario Kart, except that acceleration is automatic and all users need to do is swipe their screen to control their character.
We’re not sure if you can get the red/purple sparks in Mario Kart Tour, so we’ll have to wait to try it to find out. Also, what’s interesting about the game is that it will be played vertically, not horizontally. There will also be a bunch of characters to choose from at the start, which includes, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, Toadette, Rosalina, Waluigi, Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina, Metal Mario, Larry, Lemmy, Ludwig, Dry Bones, and Dry Bowser.
Mario Kart Tour was previously reported as being “free-to-start”. This means that it could adopt a similar model as Super Mario Run where it will be free to a certain stage, but beyond that players will need to pay to unlock the rest of the game and its contents.
