However, it seems that we might have jumped the gun. According to reports, Apple’s online stores have started to sell the UltraFine monitors again, but there is a catch. The model being sold is neither the 4K or 5K model that Apple had pulled from its website. Instead, this will be a new 23.7-inch 4K display which also bears the UltraFine branding.
We’re not sure why Apple replaced the older models with this one, but perhaps LG had stopped the production of the other two displays. As for the specs, this new model will sport a resolution of 3840×2160 which is actually lower than the previous 4K model which had a resolution of 4096×2304, although its display size is a tad bigger.
Other than that, the design is similar and there will be 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports, 3x USB-C ports, and built-in stereo speakers. The new display is priced at $700 and is available for purchase via Apple’s website.
