One of the problems with Bluetooth is that not all devices support simultaneous connections. For example, the iPhone does not allow users to connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones to it and a set of Bluetooth speakers. This means that if users would have to choose between either device for their music listening.
This is limiting because sometimes you want to have both, or maybe you want to allow multiple Bluetooth headsets to connect to your iPhone. The good news is that this year’s iPhones could support that, according to a report from Japanese publication Mac Otakara. According to the report, they cite a supply chain source who claims that the iPhone 11 could come with dual Bluetooth audio connection.
This will be similar to Samsung’s Dual Audio Feature that lets users play music from their device to two connected Bluetooth devices at the same time. An example provided by Mac Otakara suggests that this could be used in the car, where the handset could be connected to a car’s infotainment system and a set of headphones at the same time.
Take it with a grain of salt for now, and while it might not necessarily be the biggest leaps in terms of improvements, it is a quality of life addition that we’re sure some users might be able to appreciate.
