That being said, Apple can’t be expected to support legacy devices forever, which is why it does not come as a complete shock to learn that come iOS 13, Apple might drop support for devices like the iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, and the iPhone 6. This is according to a rumor from iPhonesoft.fr who claims that the upcoming update could end support for those devices.
Some are questioning the legitimacy of the rumor because by ending support for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple would be killing off support earlier than they did for some of its older handsets. That being said, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were launched in 2014, making them about 5 years old by now, so we suppose it does feel like it could be time for them to be retired.
It is unclear exactly how many users this could end up affecting if true. Apple is expected to officially unveil iOS 13 at WWDC next month, so check back with us then for the details. Until then, take this report with a grain of salt for now.
