Guests Can Now Join Your Twitter Live Video Broadcasts

It has long been possible to broadcast video live on Twitter but even though the company allowed Periscope users to open their streams to guests back in February this year, it waited to offer this same functionality on Twitter proper. The company today confirmed that users will now be able to add guests to their live video broadcasts on Twitter. The feature will be available in both the iOS and Android apps.

Twitter confirms that with this new feature, users will be able to allow up to three people to call into a Twitter user’s ongoing live video broadcast. This will make it easier for the guests to do things like ask the broadcaster questions or just have a conversation about them.

Twitter did acknowledge that this feature has been well received ever since it was launched for Periscope earlier this year. It then decided to expand it to its main service in order to make it easier for its users to connect with each other.

Much like guests who join on Periscope streams, they will be able to use their microphone and their audio will be heard by everyone watching the broadcast. Guests can drop themselves from the broadcast at any time so that others can also join in on the action.
