Now, a lot of smartphones have the ability to shoot timelapse, and there are plenty of apps that can help with that. However, it seems that Google has decided that now is a good time to introduce the feature to its Pixel smartphones, and they will be starting with their recently announced Pixel 3a and 3a XL handsets.
The feature will allow photographers to record extended footage at a few frames per second, and where users will be able to speed it up at 5x, 10x, 30x, or 120x. In addition to being available on the Pixel 3a smartphones, Google has also announced that they will be making it available on their other Pixel smartphones too, so it’s something to look forward to if you’ve always felt that a native timelapse feature was something that was missing on the Pixel smartphones.
We’re not sure when the feature is expected to roll out to other Pixel handsets, but it will come as an update to the Camera app, so do keep an eye out for it if you’re interested.
