It goes without saying that Google Assistant is one of the best voice assistants on the market right now. The company continues to improve its digital assistant with new features, some of which were unveiled at I/O 2019 yesterday. Google also keeps increasing the list of supported languages to enable more people to talk to Assistant in their native language. Vietnamese is the latest addition to that list.
Starting today, it’s possible to speak to Assistant in Vietnamese, an addition that will likely be appreciated by those who speak the language. The option to use Assistant in Tieng Viet wasn’t available until a few months ago.
It’s available now and can be selected as a second language for Assistant alongside English. In order to select the second language, users just have to launch Assistant and tap on the bottom right icon followed by their profile picture on the top right to navigate to Settings > Assistant > Languages.
Do keep in mind that support for Vietnamese is still in beta so it may not work flawlessly, at least right now. The support, which is only available on smartphones and tablets right now, will gradually be improved as more people who speak the language interact with Assistant.
