Unfortunately, you might have to wait until next year for its successor. This is according to a report from Fuji Rumors who claims that they have heard from their sources that the next X100 camera will only arrive in 2020. This represents a slight delay because based on previous X100 launches, the gap in between them is typically two years.
At this point in time, no one really knows what the next-gen X100 camera could be packing in terms of hardware and software features, but we imagine that it will be an improvement over its predecessor. Also, no one knows what the camera could be called. For those who are unfamiliar, the letters in the X100 series are named after their generation. For example, the X100S had the “S” stand for “second”, while the X100T had the “T” stand for “third”, while the X100F had the “F” stand for “fourth”.
Fuji Rumors has tossed out some potential ideas out there, such as the X100V (which would break the naming scheme), or maybe even the X200 which will represent a brand new series of cameras. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but in the meantime, you probably shouldn’t get hold your breath just yet.
