This is because according to the publication’s sources, they have been told that the camera will come with a new lens. Why is this a big deal? For years, the X100 series comes with a 23mm f/2.0 fixed lens. In a way, this is what makes the camera so appealing because a 23mm lens is actually a pretty decent general purpose lens, where it’s not too wide or not too zoomed, making it idea for a walkaround lens.
Fuji Rumors does not have the details on what the new lens could be, but it is exciting to see Fujifilm change it up after years. However, hopefully the changes won’t be too drastic as it does have the potential to put people off from buying it. In addition to the new lens, they have also been told that the camera will feature a new sensor to go along with the new lens in the form of the X-Trans IV.
Take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you have been a fan of Fujifilm’s X100 series, then it is certainly sounding like the X100V (or X200) could be a camera to look forward to.
