It has been many years since Square Enix first officially announced the Final Fantasy VII Remake. As such, many were worried that the development on the game might have stalled, but yesterday’s release of the gameplay footage from the game has revealed that things are progressing rather nicely.
In fact, if you were interested in seeing how far along Square Enix has come, a video put together by YouTuber Cycu1 has compared footage from a video released in 2015 to the latest video released yesterday, and boy, are the differences like night and day. If you thought that the video released in 2015 looked good, then 2019’s graphics seem to be much better.
This isn’t to say that what Square Enix had four years ago was bad, it’s just that things have greatly improved since then, as expected. We should point out that the video released yesterday had a disclaimer that said that video was shot using development footage, meaning that there is a chance that things could further improve upon ahead of the game’s release.
At the moment, there is still no word on when Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released, but Square Enix recently confirmed that the game will be released in multiple parts and that more details are expected to be revealed this coming June.
