Dell XPS 13 2-In-1 Receives A Complete Overhaul

Dell has unveiled a handful of new products at Computex and the new XPS 13 2-in-1 is one of them. The company had previously launched a refreshed version of the XPS 13 at CES earlier this year. The new 2-in-1 model gets a complete overhaul which includes design improvements as well as more powerful internals.

The XPS 13 2-in-1 now features a 13.4 inch, 16:10 aspect ratio display which is a 7 percent bump over its predecessor. Since it’s taller, the new model has a larger footprint as well. Dell has made good use of the additional space by also kitting it with a bigger touchpad and keyboard.

Speaking of the keyboard, it has received a redesign and now touts the maglev key technology from the XPS 15 2-in-1. The fingerprint sensor’s placement has been changed so that it’s in line with the keyboard so it’s much more comfortable to live with now.

You’ll find Intel’s new 10nm Ice Lake processors under the hood which are more powerful than the U-Series chips on the previous 2-in-1 model. This also means that Dell has had to add fans to the new model but given that the company claims a 2.5x bump in performance, this tradeoff does make sense. Configuration options for the new Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 include FHD+ and 4K screen panels as well.

Dell is yet to confirm availability information for the new model.
