This is according to a report from Bloomberg who claims that at WWDC 2019, Apple could be announcing their plans to retire the app. This is actually not the first time we’re hearing about it, and it was only just yesterday that screenshots shared by 9to5Mac revealed that Apple would be launching separate and standalone apps for music and TV shows.
The reasons for that is as we said, iTunes has become too bloated and weighted down by all the features that it has collected over the years. This has resulted in a less-than-stellar experience for those who simply want to listen to music or watch their shows, especially when there are much better alternatives out there.
That being said, we imagine that there will probably be some who might actually prefer using iTunes, where everything is housed under one roof. In any case, we should have more details on what Apple has planned next week during WWDC, so check back with us then for more updates.
