Apple Has Launched A New iPod Touch

It has been quite some time since Apple refreshed its iPod touch music player and amid reports that this was likely happening, the company today announced a brand new iPod touch. The new music player comes with improved internals but not much in the way of design changes. While the iPod touch has generally taken design cues from the iPhone, you will find that the iPhone X has had no bearing on the iPod touch’s design.

The new iPod touch comes with an A10 Fusion chip which is the same as the one you’ll find in the iPhone 7. It does allow for features like Group FaceTime and immersive augmented reality experiences. There’s also a new 256GB storage option.

There hasn’t been a new iPod touch since July 2015 when the sixth-generation model was released. The new one has the same design, the same 4 inch display with bezels that are completely out of place in 2019, a physical home button and cameras.

The iPod touch is without a doubt the cheapest iOS device on the market. Pricing starts at $199 for the 32GB model and goes up to $299 for the 128GB and $399 for the 256GB models. Interested customers can pick one up online starting today and in stores later this week.
