Apple has roped in some pretty big names as it looks to grow its slate of original content for its Apple+ streaming service. Oprah is one of them and she can rightly be considered TV royalty. Apple has now gone ahead and got actual royalty in the form of the Duke of Sussex, better known as Prince Harry, who will be teaming up with Oprah for a mental health docu-series.
Prince Harry and Oprah are partners, co-creators, and executive producers on this as-yet-unnamed mental health series which is going to launch on Apple’s platform in 2020. The two have been working on this series for months.
It will be a multi-part documentary series that focuses on both mental illness and mental wellness. The idea is to inspire viewers to have an honest conversation about the challenges that most of us face and how we can equip ourselves with the tools that help us “not simply survive, but to thrive.”
“Our hope is that this series will be positive, enlightening and inclusive – sharing global stories of unparalleled human spirit fighting back from the darkest places, and the opportunity for us to understand ourselves and those around us better. I am incredibly proud to be working alongside Oprah on this vital series,” said Prince Harry.
