Google’s Pixel 3a Smartphone Spotted On Geekbench

Google is expected to launch the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL next week, and it looks like at least one of the handsets has made an appearance on Geekbench, giving us a glimpse as to what we might be able to expect in terms of hardware specs. Of course, it should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but it does sound about right in terms of what to expect.

According to the Geekbench listing, it shows how the phone is being powered by a Qualcomm octa-core processor accompanied by 4GB of RAM. The rumors have long suggested that the Pixel 3a series will be a budget version of the Pixel lineup, and as such the Qualcomm chipset used has been rumored to be the Snapdragon 670.

As we said, this will be a budget version of the Pixel smartphones so if you’ve always wanted a more “pure” Android experience on a budget, these handsets could be it. It remains to be seen if Google plans on doing this for future Pixel smartphones, but we have to say that it does come at a rather odd time.

This is because Google is expected to launch the Pixel 4 later this year, so by launching the Pixel 3a at this point in time could have customers confused. Either way, the handset has been hinted at for a 7th of May launch, so check back with us next week if you’d like the details.
