Google Hinting At Pixel 3a Launch For May 7

If you think that Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones are still a bit too expensive for your liking, then you might have heard that Google could be planning on launching budget versions of its Pixel 3 handset in the form of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. The good news is that it looks like the handsets could be close to launch.

In a post on Google’s own online store, it seems that the company is teasing the launch of a new product on the 7th of May. Coincidentally enough, Google I/O is taking place on the 8th of May, so it makes sense that Google would launch the handset the day before the event, especially since Google I/O tends to be more software focused rather than hardware focused.

For those who are hearing about this for the first time, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are upcoming smartphones that are supposed to be more affordable variants of the Pixel 3 series. Exactly how much they will cost remains to be seen, but we should point out that Google has dropped the price of its Pixel 3 smartphones since its launch, so whether or not the price difference will be big enough to tempt customers is unclear.

In any case, if the teaser is accurate, we should have all the official details in the coming weeks, so do check back with us later for the updates.
