During the company’s Investor Day webcast, the company spoke about their plans for Disney+ and how they are aiming to bring it to as many countries as possible. Unfortunately, this means that at launch the service will only be available to those living in the US this coming fall before it eventually expands to other countries. Disney did not provide a timeline as to when that might happen, but hopefully, it won’t take too long.
As it stands, streaming services such as Netflix have the advantage of being available globally, although we imagine that the appeal of Disney’s vast catalogue could easily tempt users to jump ship. However, until Disney+ is made available globally, it looks like Netflix could have the edge for now. Disney did not mention how much its upcoming service would cost either, but we imagine that it should probably be in line with how much current streaming services charge their customers.
