Fans of the franchise are excited for the release of Borderlands 3. However, Gearbox is yet to confirm an official release date for the title. However, it seems like the company may have let the release date slip in a tweet that has now been deleted. The tweet mentioned that Borderlands 3 would be released on September 13th.
Gearbox officially announced the sequel last week but didn’t confirm when the title would be released. It did say that more details about the game would be provided on April 3rd. So it seems that the release date had been tweeted out ahead of the planned date to confirm these details.
The tweet may have been deleted but it was up for long enough for people to screenshot it and then spread it online. It said that “Mayhem is coming September 13. Pre-order now for the Gold Weapon Skins Pack!” This felt like confirmation enough that the much-awaited title would finally be released on September 13th.
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford also hinted that the studio’s return to the Borderlands franchise might be a six month exclusive on the Epic Games Store. That hasn’t been confirmed officially at this point in time but one can expect that this may be among the additional details that the company is due to confirm tomorrow.
