If you’ve ever wanted to follow the comments on a Twitter post, you will either need to “heart” the post or comment on it to get notified. This is pretty standard, but at the same time giving a post a “heart” could be seen as endorsing it, and if you’d rather not do that or leave a comment, Twitter might have a new feature in the works that they are testing.
According to researcher Jane Manchun Wong (via Engadget), she discovered that Twitter is testing out some kind of conversation subscription feature. What this means is that users will be able to “subscribe” to tweets and be notified of its subsequent conversations without needing to like it or dropping a comment of your own.
Twitter has since confirmed that this feature is indeed in the works and that it is part of their work to make Twitter more “conversational”. There is no word on when the feature will be rolled out to users, but it could be worth keeping an eye out for if this is something that you think will come in handy.
That being said, Twitter does test new features out every now and then so it is unclear if this feature will actually make its debut or if there could be changes made to it ahead of its public rollout.
