No Man’s Sky developers have continued to send out updates for the game to make improvements after many felt that the title hadn’t lived up to its hype. The updates have brought significant improvements to the game with the last major one coming in August 2018. Developer Hello Games has now revealed that it has been working on an online mode for the title which will arrive for free this summer.
Beyond is basically a bundle of the three planned updates as one large release, the studio says, with the first part being No Man’s Sky Online. Beyond is thus the next chapter for the title and will be available as a free download over the summer.
According to Hello Games, No Man’s Sky Online is a “new social and multiplayer experience.” It will let players meet and play together inside the in-game universe. No subscription would be required for this online experience and there won’t be any microtransactions as well so it can’t really be called an MMO.
Many players who had been hoping for an experience of this sort will now be excited to see what Hello Games has in store for them. The studio is going to provide more details about No Man’s Sky in the coming weeks. It will also be detailing the other two parts of the Beyond chapter.
