Last month it was reported that Nintendo could be working to bring virtual reality (VR) to the Nintendo Switch soon. The good news is that it looks like they have in a rather interesting way in the form of the Nintendo Labo VR Kit. As you can see, this is a VR headset that is reminiscent of Google Cardboard where the Switch will act as the display for the VR headset.
Also judging by the design on the outside of the box, there are various ways for users to enjoy VR using the kit, such as creating a kit that looks like a bird and experience “flying”, a gun-like kit that could let players play an FPS game, and there is also a kit that looks like it could double up as a camera of sorts.
The Labo VR Kit will be priced at $80 for the full set. This includes the software, goggles, and five cardboard designs that are shown on the box. There will also be a cheaper starter kit priced at $40 which includes the software, goggles, and the blaster/rifle design. The additional designs are expected to be made available later on as an expansion.
