Earlier this year it was announced that the Nintendo Switch would be getting a new Zelda game in the form of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. However it seems that there could be a chance that we could be getting more than just one Zelda game this year because in a post on GameFAQs, there could be another that might be announced soon.
In a post by user Vergeben (via Nintendo Life), he says that there could be another Zelda game in the works, but apparently this particular title will not be for the Nintendo Switch. Instead it will be aimed at Nintendo’s handheld consoles and will be released as a 2D title on the Nintendo eShop.
Details are scarce at this point in time, but the post claims that Nintendo could be announcing the title in the coming months. It is also rumored to be launching before Link’s Awakening, which for those unfamiliar is actually a remastering of an older Zelda title. To date Breath of the Wild is the latest installment in the Zelda franchise.
There have been talks about there possibly being a brand new Zelda game coming to the Switch in the future, but we have no details on that at the moment. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information.
