According to a report from the Economic Times (via Engadget), Netflix is said to be testing out a cheaper, mobile-only plan in India where it will cost 250 rupees a month, which after conversion is roughly $3.64. This makes it half the price of a standard Netflix plan and will come with limitations, such as only being able to stream in standard quality and can only be viewed on their phones and tablets.
However, it has been pointed out that despite this being a lower price, it is actually more expensive than what Amazon is charging its customers in India for Prime Video where it is priced around $1.88. India is not the only market that Netflix is testing out cheaper, mobile-only plans. The company had previously tested out a similar plan in Malaysia, but it is unclear if they plan to eventually expand that to more markets at a later date.
