The latest Windows 10 update, KB4482887, was supposed to bring several improvements for the company’s operating system but it has done the opposite. Many people who updated have noticed that the latest version of the OS has lead to performance issues in games and with mice. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and said that it’s working on a fix.
Microsoft mentions in the release notes that after installing this update, users may notice “graphics and mouse performance degradation with desktop gaming when playing certain games, such as Destiny 2.”
Online reports from users suggest that this update has resulted in performance issues with older titles as well, with Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players also complaining about the same.
The company adds that it’s working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release. It says that users can uninstall KB4482887 as a short-term resolution to regain performance.
It’s pertinent to mention here that KB4482887 brings several “quality of life” improvements for Windows 10. No major non-gaming issues have been reported with this latest update. So those users who don’t play games on their machines have nothing to worry about and can continue to use the latest version of Windows 10 without any concern.
