As spotted by Owen Williams on Twitter, it appears that Google is adding support for the Nintendo Switch controllers to its Chrome browser. What does this mean? This means that in theory you should be able to play games through Chrome using your Nintendo Switch controllers if you prefer.
Chrome was previously used by Google to showcase its game streaming technology where gamers were able to play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey through the browser, which we have to say was a pretty remarkable feat. Now the adding of Switch controllers means that Google expects to have more games that can be streamed, although whether or not these games include Nintendo titles remains to be seen.
Note that support for Switch controllers hasn’t been added yet but as Williams uncovered, there are signs that Google is working on it. Hopefully the company will have more details to share come GDC which will be kicking off next week.
