According to Disney’s CEO Bob Iger, “This is an extraordinary and historic moment for us—one that will create significant long-term value for our company and our shareholders. Combining Disney’s and 21st Century Fox’s wealth of creative content and proven talent creates the preeminent global entertainment company, well positioned to lead in an incredibly dynamic and transformative era.”
This move turns Disney into quite a powerhouse when it comes to entertainment. More importantly, at least for fans of superhero movies, this means that certain franchises will finally be returning home to Marvel. This includes the likes of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool. While Deadpool has done pretty well on its own, many are no doubt hoping for Marvel to reboot the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies and fold them into the MCU.
Unfortunately there is no telling when we will see that happen, especially with the Dark Phoenix movie having yet to be released, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled all the same.
