However according to Google, they have since made some changes where Data Saver will now help to speed up HTTPS websites through Chrome Lite Pages. “We use built-in optimizations and Google servers to improve page loading. The specific optimization techniques depend on what region the user is in and on how the developer wrote and served that particular page. When Chrome optimizes an HTTPS page, only the URL is shared with Google; other information – cookies, login information, and personalized page content – is not shared with Google.”
Typically such data saving features are aimed more towards users in emerging markets where internet speeds aren’t quite as fast. However even if you live somewhere with fast internet speeds, it’s not a bad idea to try and improve their load times anyway.
