Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends battle royale title has seen considerable success ever since the surprise launch of this game set in the world of Titanfall. It continues to see growth at a healthy pace so much so that EA and Respawn have now announced that merely a month after the game’s launch it now has more than 50 million players worldwide.
A tweet sent out by the official Apex Legends account confirmed that the title now has more than 50 million players worldwide. “We are humbled by all your support and can’t wait to show you what’s next,” it said.
The developer and publisher haven’t revealed the number of simultaneous players so it’s unclear how the game is doing on that front but it did see more than two million people playing at the same time during its first weekend.
It’s a significant achievement for this title given the fact that Respawn still has to kick off the season pass or even introduce more new content other than just some cosmetic items and a new weapon.
Apex Legends still has a ways to go before it can reach the numbers that Fortnite boasts, 200 million players as of this fall, but it’s pertinent to mention here that Fortnite has been out for much longer and the figure also includes players on mobile. Apex Legends is only available on consoles and Windows PC right now.
