DJI released its handheld vlogging camera Osmo Pocket in December and it has finally made an accessory available that many users had been waiting for. It has released the 3.5mm microphone adapter for the Osmo Pocket. The adapter plugs into the camera’s USB Type-C port and can work with microphones.
The 3.5mm microphone adapter for the Osmo Pocket costs $39 and it will reportedly support microphones from companies like Rode, Sennheiser, and Audio-Technica. It’s not like Osmo Pocket owners couldn’t capture audio at all before this adapter was released.
It does have an internal microphone but it has been regarded as weak in many reviews. Most owners just wished for an adapter so that they could plug in an external microphone for better audio. that’s better suited to the otherwise impressive three-axis stabilized camera. Sound quality is obviously an important part when you’re selling a camera aimed at vloggers.
Osmo Pocket users can get this adapter now and use it to plug in an external 3.5mm microphone to the camera for higher quality sound recording. It’s recommended to use microphones from mainstream bands like the ones mentioned above. This adapter can obviously only be used with the DJI Osmo Pocket, it’s now available for purchase from DJI’s online store.
