Microsoft will once again have a big presence at the annual E3 gaming convention and earlier reports claim that the next-gen Xbox hardware codenamed “Lockhart” and “Anaconda” could be unveiled at the event. Microsoft’s Xbox boss Phil Spencer has hinted that there might be some PC gaming announcements made at E3 2019 as well.
“First priority is delivering a new Store experience for games that factors in all of our learnings from past challenges on the PC,” Spencer said in an interview with PC Gamer, adding that the company will share more details about its plans for this soon. Whether or not these changes involve switching up the mostly exclusive distribution of Microsoft’s first-party games through the Windows Store only remains to be seen.
Spencer’s comments suggest that the company will have more to talk about this at E3 2019 which is understandable. There might be additional announcements aimed at improving the gaming experience for PC owners. “At E3 this year, and throughout 2019, you’ll begin to see where we’ve been investing to deliver across Store, services, in Windows and in great games,” Spencer added.
The 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo is going to take place on June 11th and run through June 14th at the Los Angeles Convention Center in L.A., California.
