Star Wars Episode 9 is expected to be launched this year which will officially conclude the latest set of trilogies of Star Wars movies. A couple of years ago ahead, Disney confirmed that they will be developing a new trilogy following this one, and that The Last Jedi’s director Rian Johnson will be working on them.

However there was a recent report by SuperBroMovies that apparently Johnson had stopped development on the new trilogy, to which the director has since refuted those rumors on Twitter According to Johnson, “No it isn’t true, I’m still working on the trilogy. With all due respect to the movie bros, who I’m sure are lovely kind bros with good fraternal intentions.”

The report seems to be based on speculation that Johnson might have dropped out of the new trilogy following the backlash that The Last Jedi movie had received. Express.co.uk had also pointed out that Disney’s CEO Bob Iger had failed to mention Johnson’s name when he spoke about the future of the Star Wars franchise which only served to fuel the rumors and speculation.

However based on Johnson’s tweet, it seems that all is well. When exactly these new Star Wars movies will be released is anyone’s guess, but as Iger was quoted as saying, “We are just at the point where we’re gonna start making decisions about what comes next after JJ’s (Star Wars Episode 9). But I think we’re gonna be a little bit more careful about volume and timing.”
