Sonos has teamed up with Sonance for the all-new Sonos Architectural collection of speakers intended for both indoor and outdoor use. Customers can choose from an in-wall, in-ceiling, and weatherproof outdoor speakers. These passive speakers have been optimized to work with the Sonos Amp, thus allowing users to have an integrated audio system for the entire home.
The design brief behind these speakers was to have them disappear into any space while providing even coverage, clear sound, and high-quality performance. “Our goal was to create a solution optimized for installers, bringing the Sonos experience to architectural speakers for the first time,” says Patrick Spence, CEO of Sonos.
When the in-ceiling and in-wall speakers are hooked up to the Sonos Amp, this enables Trueplay to take into account the size, construction, and furnishings of the room where the speakers are placed to automatically adjust the EQ for optimal sound.
The Outdoor speaker is the first of its kind from Sonos that has been designed for use outside. It has a weatherproof design and has been engineered to withstand environmental conditions. So you can have the same song playing inside and outside the house courtesy of your Sonos system.
The in-ceiling, in-wall and outdoor speakers cost $599, $599, $799 each per pair. They are available for pre-order on Sonos today with general availability from February 26th. General availability for the outdoor speaker is scheduled for April.
