The Nokia 9 PureView s a highly-anticipated handset, namely because of its penta-lens array on the back where it will be interesting to see how the company approaches it. However if there is one area we can’t really get on board with is the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.
While the Snapdragon 845 is a powerful chipset, it was last year’s model which means that customers will inevitably make the comparison against the Snapdragon 855. In fact recently discovered Geekbench benchmarks have revealed that the Nokia 9 PureView might not be able to stand up to the competition.
According to the benchmarks, it reveals that the phone as a single-core score of 2,269 and a multi-core score of 8,793. This is versus the Galaxy S10 whose benchmarks (assuming they are accurate) show it has a single-core score of 4,477 and a multi-core score of 10,444, making it a lot faster than the Nokia 9 PureView.
That being said, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t buy the phone, but if you’re someone who plans on keeping their phone around for the next 2-3 years, it might be more prudent to invest in a handset with the latest hardware to try and futureproof yourself as much as possible.
