This is usually because sometimes acquisitions are made to fold apps and services into an existing product, like what Apple does. However it seems that in Newton Mail’s case, it will live on. The app has made a surprising return to the iOS App Store where according to the release notes, “We are thrilled to be back. If you still have your Newton account, just log in using your Newton username and password.”
The app had previously been offered with a $99 a year subscription fee, but it seems that upon its return, that subscription fee has been halved where users will now only need to pay $49 a year. There will be a free 14-day trial that users can take part in before deciding whether or not to commit to it.
The app will come with a host of email features such as universal read receipts, undo sent mail, two-factor authentication, recap, and more. If you’d like to check it out for yourself, head on over to the App Store to get your hands on it.
