However according to a report from TechCrunch, it seems that Instagram could be testing out a way to make it easier to juggle multiple accounts, which could also potentially also make it act as a replacement/alternative for the “Login with Facebook” feature. They were tipped off by social media researcher Ishan Agarwal who pointed them to the code of the Instagram for Android alpha app.
According to the code’s description, it reads, “Quickly and securely log in to all of your Instagram accounts with one ID and password . . . Make one of your accounts your main account and use it to log in to all of your other accounts at once . . . Your accounts will remain separate but logging in will be fast and simple . . . Anyone who has the password for your main account will have access to the accounts connected to it.”
Instagram has so far declined to comment on the feature, which is usually standard practice as the feature appears to be in alpha, meaning that the company could simply be testing it out and probably won’t commit to commenting on it until it becomes more stable and they’re sure that it will become a mainstay feature.
