As you can see in the image above, the HTC 5G Hub kind of reminds us of smart speaker devices like the Amazon Echo Show and the Google Home Hub, where they are not only digital assistants, but can also use its display to show off additional information like videos, the weather, and so on.
In a way the HTC 5G Hub will be similar where it can be used as an entertainment system of sorts where it can stream Netflix videos and even games. However the fact that it also supports 5G means that it will be able to beam 5G mobile internet to devices around it, so if you’re out and about and want to take advantage of 5G but your mobile device doesn’t support it yet, you can use the HTC 5G Hub as a hotspot.
Unfortunately there is no word on how much it will cost yet, but HTC has warned that it will not be cheap and is mostly aimed at users who want to have the latest and greatest tech (and who don’t mind paying for it). It is also expected to be exclusive to Sprint when it does eventually launch in the US.
