The good news is that if you’re a Duo user and want desktop functionality, you’re in luck because Google has since launched Duo for the web. There is nothing fancy about this feature and if you’ve used Duo before, then this shouldn’t present much of a learning curve. In fact compared to other mobile-to-desktop clients, there doesn’t seem to be a need for users to scan QR codes or authenticate their phone number. All they need to do is log into their Duo account and they’ll be good to go.
Once users are logged in, they should be able to see all their synched Duo contacts and they’ll be able to just click on them to make a call. Naturally this will require that your computer feature a microphone or webcam since Duo for the web will support either voice or video calling, so users have that option. To launch Duo for the web, simply head on over to its website where the feature seems to be rolling out to everyone as we speak.
