Based on their findings, there were about 42 openings as of mid-January for Apple’s Interactive Media Group, which is said to be the division responsible for building the platform that Apple will be using for its upcoming streaming service. It’s not surprising to see Apple tackle streaming with such gusto.
In recent times Apple has been trying to get developers to start adopting a subscription-based model. This is because subscriptions ensure a steady stream of revenue versus ala carte purchases, and it also keeps users locked into the ecosystem. Analysts have also advised Apple to adopt such a model in the past, and it looks like Apple is indeed doing just that.
The company has been going about acquiring a bunch of TV shows and movies that presumably will be part of its upcoming service. Not much is known about it at the moment, such as pricing, what shows to expect, and so on, but some are saying it could be sold as a package which could include a subscription to the news, Apple Music, and so on.
