According to Kuo, he claims that for the 2019 iPhones, Apple might actually be employing the use of frosted glass for the casing of the iPhone. We’re not sure if this will be the only change made to the design, but it will be at the very least one of them. The use of frosted glass will also represent a first for Apple, who has in the past typically relied on a clear glass finish.
Frosted glass has been used on other phones in the past, namely, the Google Pixel 3 which according to hands-on reviews of the phone, feels a lot smoother and “softer” to the touch. It also doesn’t come across as feeling “sticky” compared to regular glass, plus there is also an upside which is that it will not attract fingerprints the same way as clear glass does.
Take this report with a grain of salt for now, but Kuo has in the past proven his mettle when it comes to reporting on Apple’s plans for the future, so there is a chance that his latest report could be right.
