At CES 2019, Withings has announced their own take on a wearable ECG with the Withings Move ECG. However unlike the Apple Watch, the Move ECG is more of an analog device that comes with an ECG built into it, so while we suppose it is a “smart” watch, it isn’t necessarily a smartwatch in the way we might think of such a device.
However at the same time it doesn’t really come as a surprise, giving that the company’s previous devices like the Withings Activite were created in a similar style. According to Withings, taking a reading is easy as all they have to do is ensure the watch is on their wrist, and they’ll need to touch the bezels of the watch, wait about 30 seconds or less, and the reading should be ready for viewing.
That being said, don’t let its analog face fool you. The Move ECG will come with sensors that can measure your activity, like calories burned, pace, distance, elevation, and more. Some of these details can be viewed from the watch’s sub-dial, while more detailed information can be found in its accompany smartphone app. The Withings Move ECG will be available for purchase in Q2 2019 for a price of $129.95, pending a successful review and clearance by the FDA and CE.
