It’s a stock image of a plain egg. That image was uploaded with the sole purpose of taking this title and it has succeeded. The image has over 29 million likes as of this liking.
Jenner has held on to the record of having the most liked photo on Instagram for quite some time now. The post, in particular, was the one in which she announced the birth of her child. It had over 18 million likes.
“Egg Gang” is the owner of the account that was trying to win this title. The picture of the egg now has more than 29 million likes. It’s far out in the clear from Jenner’s post. The account itself has amassed over 3.2 million followers. More than 1.1 million comments have been posted.
This goes to show that sometimes it can be as simple as this to crack the viral formula. The post did little more than asking to “set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram.” That seemed to have motivated the Instagram community enough to rally behind an image of an egg. As Egg Gang wrote in an Instagram story acknowledging the win, “What a time to be alive.”
