Samsung has officially announced the Exynos Auto V9 which will offer up eight of ARM’s latest Core-A76 CPU cores, along with “premium audio features” thanks to the use of HiFi 4 audio digital signal processor, a neural processing unit, and also built-in safety measures that will satisfy ASIL-B requirements.
According to Samsung, the Exynos Auto V9 will support up to six displays at once and twelve camera connections. Samsung’s vice president of Device Solutions Division Kenny Han says, “We are thrilled to introduce the new Exynos Auto line of products, starting with the Exynos Auto V9, which brings powerful processing performance to the next generation of automotive in-vehicle infotainment systems while meeting the industry’s strict reliability requirements.”
So far the Exynos Auto V9 will be part of Audi’s cars and infotainment systems, but as cars are starting to get smarter and more connected, perhaps Samsung’s Exynos chipset will start finding its way into more brands and models in the future.
