The major carriers in the US have all pretty much announced their plans to begin rolling out 5G this year, and the initial roll out is expected to come in the form of 5G mobile hotspots designed to give users an idea of what they might be able to expect in terms of speed. It is possible that Bolt could be such a device that would allow Verizon to show off its 5G speeds via a mobile hotspot.
That being said, it is unclear when this Bolt device will be officially announced. CES is taking place later this week so there is a chance that we might learn more about it then. MWC is also taking place next month, so if it skips CES then MWC could be our next best bet. Alternatively it could also be announced at Samsung’s own event which could take place in the next couple of months when the Galaxy S10 is expected to be announced, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information when it does become available.
