Samsung Android Pie Beta Might Extend To Galaxy S8 And Note 8

Samsung normally limits its beta programs for major Android updates to the flagship Galaxy S series released that year. However, it’s doing things a bit differently for Android Pie. Not only was the beta opened up for the Galaxy Note 9, it appears that the company might be thinking about extending it to the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 as well.

There are reports that test Android Pie builds have been spotted on Samsung’s servers for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8. The software versions G950FXXU4ZSA1 and N950FXXU5ZSA1 are being tested for the two devices, respectively. There’s also the G955FXXU4ZSA1 build for the Galaxy S8+.

It’s pertinent to mention here that similar builds were spotted on these servers before Samsung decided to open up the program to the Galaxy Note 9. So it’s well within the realm of possibility that the Android Pie beta could be extended to these devices as well. Samsung has already released the stable Android Pie for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

It will continue to roll out the update for additional devices in the coming months. Samsung has shared the roadmap for the Pie release through its Samsung Members app. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 are slated to receive the stable Pie update in March this year.
