Roland has come out with a new product that it’s aiming at professional live streamers. The company is best known for its great electronic music gear but the VR-1HD is a bit different. It can handle audio modulation, add reverb, and more. The product’s defining feature is the ability to manage up to three cameras. This enables live streamers to broadcast multicamera live broadcasts that look professional.
The VR-1HD mixing deck from Roland is fed through three HDMI ports and has two XLR jacks for studio microphones. There’s a line-in input as well. A selection of automated transition modes are included, there’s one in which the video follows the audio, that mode will be useful in podcasts.
The camera would thus automatically switch to the person speaking into the microphone linked to a particular video feed. The Beat Sync Switching mode listens to the tempo of the audio and then selects camera inputs automatically to switch between. It will also be possible to switch cameras manually using the buttons on the device itself.
Roland says that it will start shipping out the VR-1HD from the second quarter of this year. It’s not going to be a cheap product. The price tag is $1,495 so it’s only really for those who are getting serious about their live streams.
