Pocophone F1 Beats Google’s Original Pixel On DxOMark

Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 was one of the dark horses of 2018, where the somewhat unassuming handset proved to be a huge winner in terms of value for money and features when it comes to Android smartphones. Now it seems that it has sort of proven itself yet again where based on DxOMark’s review of the handset (via 9to5Google), they have given it a score of 91 which effectively puts it ahead of the original Google Pixel.

Now we should point out that this isn’t necessarily a fair comparison since the original Pixel was launched several years ago, and Google has definitely come a very long way since then in terms of camera quality. However this score does seem to highlight that smartphone cameras have improved by leaps and bounds since then, and that you don’t have to spend $1,000 in order to get a phone with a good camera.

Granted its score of 91 is nowhere close to what other flagship phones have scored, but if you can’t justify paying so much for a phone but still want a decent camera, then the Pocophone F1 could be it. In fact in 2018, YouTuber MKBHD ran a blind camera test comparison where the Pocophone F1 made it almost to the end in an elimination-style challenge.
