Nokia 1 Plus Specs Appear Online Ahead Of Launch

HMD Global has seen considerable success with its Nokia smartphones. The company has sold some 70 million units in a couple of years and offers a variety of products to suit every price range, starting with affordable models priced at around $100 to flagship models that cost north of $700. The Nokia 1 was on the lower end of the spectrum when it arrived last year and it’s successor is due in a few months. It will apparently be called the Nokia 1 Plus and its specs have now appeared online.

The Nokia 1 Plus has been spotted in the Google Play Console Device Catalog. It’s codenamed “ANT” and it runs on Android 9 Pie Go Edition. The Go Edition iteration of Android enables low-end devices to run the latest Android versions with apps that have been optimized for budget processors with low memory.

The Nokia 1 Plus specs that have appeared online include a MediaTek MT6739 processor with 1GB of RAM. The SoC has 4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores at a 1.5GHz maximum clock speed. There’s also an Imagination Tech PowerVR GE8100 GPU. It should also have a 5-inch display with 480×960 resolution.

It will be a fairly basic device aimed at the low end of the market. HMD Global hasn’t said when this device will arrive but given that its predecessor was launched in April last year, it may be out in a few months.
